Communicating with Your Instructor - Announcements and Email Messages

Your instructor may communicate with you using email, announcements, Canvas Conversations (Inbox), or even a chat feature within Canvas. Check out the following guides to learn more about these Canvas communication features.

Announcements Links to an external site. - Canvas announcements are posted in the Canvas site for each of your courses. You can access them through the Announcements tab in the left hand menu (this course does not have one, but check your other courses, they probably do) and sometimes at the top of the homepage for your course.

Canvas Conversations (Inbox) Links to an external site. - Canvas Conversations is the email system used in Canvas. Your instructor may ask you to communicate using this system. It can always be accessed in Canvas by using the Inbox tab in the far left hand menu. 

Canvas Chat Links to an external site. - Some instructors use the Canvas Chat feature. This allows students and instructors in the course to chat with each other in Canvas. It will not be used in all courses, but if it is used then you can find it labelled as Chat in the left hand navigation menu.
