 What Is Remote Learning?

Remote learning is different than face to face (classroom) and online learning. In a traditional face-to-face course you go to campus for class at a specific time, where the instructor facilitates the learning space and activities.

In a traditional online course all coursework is housed online, the instructor still facilitates learning activities, but there is no specific place or time required for participation.

Remote learning is a combination of face-to-face and online learning.  Specifics are dependent on individual instructors, but one thing remains constant, you are now in charge of your learning space. You will likely still be asked to attend class at a specific time but virtually via the internet instead of coming in to campus. You will complete assignments online, complete exams at a testing center or using a test proctoring service online, participate in discussions remotely, or any number of learning activities.
