Monitoring Student Progress
It is easy to tell when a student stops coming or participating in a face-to-face class, but it is just as easy, if not easier, to monitor student progress in a remote class using the tools that Canvas has provided. This task becomes even easier if you have created your social presence in the course.
Canvas provides analytics to help track student progress. These tools show things such as the most recent login date, late submissions, communications, page views, etc. This tutorial Links to an external site. shows you how to view data for the course. Once you identify a student who is struggling with class and falling behind or is not doing well on assignments or hasn't logged into the course for more than a week, you can encourage them using Canvas emails, Bruinmail, or a phone call.
