Using the Inbox

The second required element in your course is Canvas's Inbox tool (also called "Conversations" in Instructure's user guides). You need to use this tool to communicate with your students.

The Inbox has many benefits:

You can send messages through the Inbox to the entire class, a group of students, or an individual student.
The Inbox enables you to communicate with everyone in each of your courses without having to collect and manage email lists, nor do you have to leave Canvas to send messages to your students.
Using the Inbox to communicate helps you comply with the college’s FERPA regulations.
Many students use Canvas’ mobile app, which allows them to easily send and receive messages with Inbox.
